Duke, looking for his first PBA50 title of the season, finished qualifying with a 16-game total of 3,836, a 239.75 average, to lead the field of 90 players at Harvest Park Bowl in Brentwood, California. The event concludes Tuesday with all rounds being broadcast live on FloBowling.
After finishing the first round in fourth place with 1,932, Duke shot 1,904 to move into the lead as scores were lower in Monday’s second round.

The top eight players earned byes into the final round of match play Tuesday afternoon. Joining Duke among the top eight were John Burkett, Bob Rosenau, Walter Ray Williams Jr., Bryan Goebel, Scott Greiner and non-PBA member George Aboud.
With a win this week, Williams, who led after Sunday’s first round, will own the PBA50 record for career titles outright. He’s currently tied with John Handegard with 14 titles after winning the first three events of the 2019 PBA50 Tour season.
Players who finished qualifying in positions nine through 16 earned a bye into the first round of match play. All other qualifiers will bowl a five-game cashers qualifying round on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. Eastern.
All pins from qualifying are dropped and each round starts from scratch Tuesday. The top five players from the final round of match play will advance to the stepladder finals, scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday live on FloBowling.
