Bill O’Neill says he’s in the midst of his best season on tour, while Anthony Simonsen has been red hot lately as the two prepare to clash in the first round of the FloBowling ATX Invite.
The pair of PBA stars will battle when the event kicks off at 2 p.m. Eastern on Saturday live on FloBowling. The winner of the matchup will face either No. 2 EJ Tacket or No. 7 Kyle Sherman in the semifinals.
Simonsen, who enters as the No. 3 seed, had a strong showing at the FloBowling PBA Summer Swing where he made all three shows and picked up a victory.
O’Neill, the sixth seed, has been steady all summer long, picking up a victory at the PBA Chesapeake Open and didn’t finish lower than 22nd in the past couple months.
Here’s how they finished in each event this summer:

Simonsen earned $29,670 this summer, with nearly all of it coming at the Summer Swing. O’Neill picked up a bunch of small cashes to go along with his $10,000 win to reach $17,385 in earnings.
Prediction
This is a tough one because both players are in the midst of putting together great seasons. However, Simonsen tends to step up when big money is on the line. Prediction: Simonsen by 11.
