The PBA is back for a second straight week when 10 of the best bowlers in the country will compete in the 2020 PBA Summer Clash.
The event, which will be a stark contrast to the high-paced PBA Strike Derby that aired last weekend, will be broadcast on FOX (United States) and FloBowling (international) from 6-8 p.m. Eastern on Saturday.
Over the weekend, Kris Prather emerged as the victor at the PBA Strike Derby, picking up a $25,000 payday as he survived a grueling test of speed. This week, a top of prize of $20,000 will be on the line for the 10 participants.
PWBA stars Shannon O’Keefe and Danielle McEwan will join the competition this weekend along with Prather, Tommy Jones, Bill O’Neill, Shawn Maldonado, Sean Rash, Anthony Simonsen, EJ Tackett and Kyle Troup.
The first round starts out with all 10 players bowling a full 10th frame. The player with the lowest total will be eliminated. After that, subsequent rounds are one shot with the player with the lowest pinfall knocked out until there’s a winner.
The eight winners of PBA Tour events in 2020 were invited to participate in the Strike Derby and Summer Clash. Australia’s Jason Belmonte and Sweden’s Jesper Svensson declined their invitations due to the global pandemic and travel restrictions. That allowed Simonsen, Maldonado and Tackett to get into the events.
O’Keefe and McEwan were invited based on their position on the 2019 PWBA Tour points list. O’Keefe was first, McEwan was second.
