This season, for the most part, O’Neill and Troup have been at the top of their games. As a result, they are two of the hottest players on tour this season.
O’Neill continues to dazzle with his ability to continue to evolve his game to not only remain competitive but win. Meanwhile, Troup has had a breakout season, winning three titles and doubling his career total.
In the Round of 16, O’Neill had little trouble beating AJ Johnson, 234-190, while Troup had to survive a win on the bench over Nick Pate, 223-214.
Who has the edge? This is another close one and with both players performing at such a high level, it’s tough to know who will come out on top. O’Neill’s strategy of using aggressive equipment has looked pretty solid. So, based on that, we’ll give him the edge.
