Daugherty posted a 10-game total of 2,203, a 220.3 average, at AMF University Lanes in Tampa Florida. The Round of 16, Round of 8 and finals of the Scorpion Championship will take place on March 17.
After the practice session Saturday, Daugherty said he expected the Scorpion to play tricky and he was right as the scores were the lowest they have been all week.
Daugherty was able secure the top seed by 34 pins over lefty Jakob Butturff, who qualified in the No. 2 spot with 2,169.
EJ Tackett continued his strong week, making his third consecutive cut with a total of 2,168. Nick Kruml was fourth with 2,149, while Matt Ogle rounded out the top five with 2,145.

With the conclusion of the Scorpion qualifying on Tuesday that also brought to an end the first stage of qualifying for the 2021 PBA World Championship.
Tackett leads the way with a 30-game total of 6,878, a 229.27 average, while Daugherty is second with 6,781. Bill O’Neill is third with 6,655.
The top 30 players after the 30 games of animal pattern qualifying advanced into Wednesday’s 10 games of cashers qualifying. Jason Sterner grabbed the last spot with 6,292, a 209.73 average.
Among those who missed the cut were Anthony Simonsen (31st place), Francois Lavoie (32nd place) and three-time defending PBA World champion Jason Belmonte (35th).
