The PBA has locked in two majors, the United States Bowling Congress Masters and the U.S. Open, into its television deal with FOX Sports, it was announced Tuesday.
The deal between the PBA, USBC and the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America will put the USBC Masters on FS1 from 2019 through 2022, while the U.S. Open will air on FOX from 2020 through 2022.
“The PBA is thrilled to have these two major professional events as part of the PBA Tour television package on FOX Sports for years to come,” PBA CEO and Commissioner Tom Clark said in a release. “It is terrific for the bowling industry to rally behind the PBA Tour on FOX Sports and collaborate on a long-term commitment for these major events.”
The 2019 USBC Masters will be conducted in Las Vegas from March 27-April 1 with all qualifying and match play rounds broadcast live on FloBowling. Moving forward, the event will continue to be held around the same time of year in conjunction with the USBC Open Championships.
As for the U.S. Open, the 2019 event will be conducted in October as scheduled but starting in 2020, the event will relocate on the calendar to February to better fit into the PBA’s schedule.
PBA Tour stepladder finals which air on FOX or FS1 are broadcast for viewers in the United States. For international viewers, the shows are simulcast on FloBowling at the same time they air on FOX or FS1. Archives of all FOX and FS1 shows are available for FloBowling subscribers seven days after the shows initially air.
