2019 Season
Barnes was excellent for FloBowling subscribers this year. The will-he-bowl-or-will-he-do-commentary-on-the-stepladder story was prominent throughout the summer tour as he contended in just about every event. Barnes registered six top 10s in 2019, two of which were majors (he also finished 12th in the World Championship), and although his earnings were down from his career average, they were his most since 2015.
2020 Outlook
Something about #20 – the nice, round number in our base-10 system, the correlation with the year 2020, the fact only 15 people in the history of the PBA have won that many titles – is exceptionally compelling. Barnes is one away. His most recent title came in 2018, but he showed a lot of his classic late-event grinding in 2019, particularly in the season-ending U.S. Open when he just missed the show and finished seventh. Will 2020 be the year Barnes wins No. 20?
